Define Your Cheeks with Face Yoga

Evolution of the Facelift

The techniques used in facelifts evolve everyday. The classic facelift, which pulls just the skin alone is history. Newer facelifts are much more sophisticated and complicated. They pull the under structure of the skin, muscles, face fat and tissues and re-arrange and re-position them into a more youthful position. New facelift techniques are supposed to result in a more natural look with a shorter recovery time. It sounds so easy and tempting.

Facelift  vs. Face Exercise

Whenever you get a scar, the nerves get injured. You feel a different sensation in the area of the scar compared to the non-scarred area. Sometimes it takes a long time to get healed completely. If you are still considering any type of plastic surgery, please remember that every surgery comes with nerve damage. That means possible permanent damage, too. In contrast, face yoga exercise is safe and free from any nerve damage. It may take longer to see the results than a quick facelift surgery but the results are much more natural. You do not have to worry about trusting the surgeon and his/her experience. You are the practitioner and you know best.

Define Your Cheeks with Face Yoga for Younger Appearance

As we age, everything starts to go down. You may notice your cheeks go down or lose volume. So what can you do without getting a facelift? Here is one simple face yoga exercise you can do to define/volumize your cheeks, and this exercise also gives you a natural nice smile. Defined and/or full cheeks often give you a younger appearance. You can do this pose while driving a car, cooking, and watching TV. Try to hold the pose until you feel your muscles getting a little bit tired. Then relax.

1) Move the jaw slightly forward, curl your lower lips over your teeth.

2) Smile, making sure both corners of your mouth are at the same level.

3) Lift up the chin slightly.

4) Push your tongue up to the roof of the mouth. Keep pushing hard for 10 seconds then relax. Do this two more times.By pushing the tongue to the roof of the mouth, the muscles around the mouth and the cheek contract more. This exercise also also tones the neck area. When you do this pose, it is very important to keep both corners of your mouth at the same level. When you first try this pose, check yourself with a mirror making sure your mouth is properly positioned. Make sure you feel the muscles on the cheeks lifted up.
