Best Technique for Double Chin

There’s a common misconception about aging skin that’s making the rounds on the internet. Wanna know what it is? It’s that skin-aging, comes from aging, alone. But that’s not entirely true.

One of the reasons I created the Face Yoga Method was to offer everyone the opportunity to combat the signs of aging using a combined method of unique body poses and facial exercises.

If you know me, you know I’m a firm believer that our posture can influence the way our face looks. Think about it, when you hang your head for long periods of time, you’re essentially helping out gravity by allowing your skin to sag, well, you may have guessed it, towards the ground.

Your posture plays a huge role in helping to fight the effects that gravity can have on your skin. It’s become second nature for me to look around and observe other people’s posture and facial expressions – because I believe they’re truly connected. Honestly, I just can’t help myself! It’s so fascinating.

The one thing I’ve noticed recently is more and more people, especially YOUNG PEOPLE are developing double chins. And my mind immediately jumps to, well how are they living their day? How are they holding their bodies?

One of the main differences that’s pretty much everywhere you look is texting! People standing in lines, their heads are down, you’re driving, and you happen to look out your window, the person on the street corner, their head is down, and they’re texting! Nowadays we all spend so much more time looking DOWN at a screen that we don’t even think about the consequences it can play on our overall health and appearance. We often forget that this one action can actually cause our necklines to sag and hang down too.

Yes, while you could start holding your phone higher (and you should!), what are you to do if you’re already noticing a drop in your neck and jawline? A lot, actually! The first step is to take notice, and prevention is the best way to combat the signs of aging, the earlier you begin to care for your skin the better!

If you’re noticing a double chin and sagging skin under your jawline, you’ve come to the right place. I’m so glad you’re taking the steps to better overall health and improvement. That’s why I developed a quick and easy method to help combat that unwanted, dreaded double chin.

The best part, with this easy technique you can pretty much practice this anti-aging method from anywhere.

  1. That typical texting/smartphone posture is a real problem. Not only is it likely to further a double chin, so many people will have problems with the neck discs in the spinal cord sooner or later. Always having your neck tilted downward puts too much pressure on the discs, damaging them in the long run. So hold your head high, everybody!

  10. Famiko,
Thank you so much for this video. My neck as two tendons coming down, one on each side, in the front. I call it my goose neck.
I thought I was stuck with it, but I can really feel the poses in those areas!
    Thank you, Charlotte

    1. Thank you so much for this information, I started 16 Nov, and I’am so happy and more sure of myself. I do these exercises twice a day and some of them as often as I can, every day watching the videos I learn new things about face yoga I love it.

  12. Hi Funiko, do you pucker your mouth too when doing the double chin lift in the middle and looking to the ceiling?
    Thanks and best Ankeline

  13. Thanks for this video, which complements – somehow – the exercises from FYM book for this area of the face (the middle chin ups are not specified in the book, so I will definitely introduce it in my daily routine) . I do practice FYM exercises religiously since February 2016 (2 years already…) and I have to say that I actually use to practice in an intense way (significantly more than Fumiko recommends; about 55 min. first hour in the morning and 55 before going to bed). Results? Definitely exist, still one area seems to be a terrible stubborn to be fixed: nasolabial lines, especially those from the corner of the mouth. In this respect, if it will ever be possible a helpful video/advice (other than those already existing in the book), somethnig that could ”detelete” my nasolabial lines it would be just wonderful.

Thanks Fumiko for the way your method changed the way my face is getting old. (BTW:We have almost the same age…)

  16. I’ve tried these exercises but have noticed mtbturkey beck looking more pronounced lately. Do you have any advice?

  17. Thank you so much Fumiko! I really wanted to know about this helpful poses. I will start today along with the other three I am doing for my nasolabial marks.
