Get Rid of Puffy Eyes – One Incredibly Easy Trick to Relax Your Eyes at Home

Have you ever had red eye? If you stay under the sun, in the snow or stare at the computer/television screen for too long, your eyes are probably tired and can possibly turn red, even if you cannot really see it. We wear sunscreen for our skin but no “eye screen” for our eyes to protect them from sun damage. Sunglasses help but they don’t cover the eyes completely!

Yes, eyes can get sunburnt, it is not as obvious as it is on the skin, but over the years you can notice the difference. Since “eyes are the window to the soul”, you should want to take care of your eyes as well as you take care of your skin.
Here are a few things you can do especially during summer to protect your eyes from sun damage:

1) Cover up. This is the most basic way to shield your eyes. Cover your face and eyes with sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat. I LOVE wearing hats not only for covering up purposes but they always come to the rescue when I have a bad hair day.

2) Use UV-blocking contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, chose lenses with built-in UVA and UVB protection.

3) Eat up! Eat dark, leafy greens like kale, broccoli and spinach and don’t forget citrus, berries and tomatoes which are packed with vitamin C. Choose food rich in vitamin E such as nuts, wheat germ and legumes, beef, shellfish, seeds and legumes, omega 3 fatty acids that are found in salmon, tuna, and flax seed and also beta carotene like carrots, cantaloupe, pumpkin, sweet potatoes. I made a great carrots dressing recipe if you want to eat more carrots. Delicious with cabbage.

For extra treatment, try this trick to relax your eyes, relieve puffiness and blood shot eyes. If your eyes are looking tired and you start seeing bags under the eyes, you should definitely try this. Results will start showing IMMEDIATELY!

All you need is 2 plastic bags (sandwich plastic bags work), a rubber band and ice cold water or ice cubes. Here’s how I do it:

Enjoy and let me know how it works.

  1. Hi Fumiko, thanks a lot for the tip! I’m sorry if this question doesn’t relate with the video but I really hope you can help. I’ve been very embarrassed for the entire of my adult life as I have man boob. I’ve tried so many kinds of diets but none seemed to help. I really hope you can let me know if there’s any yoga method to get rid of my man boob naturally without surgery. Thank you very much!

  2. Does anybody know, how to enlarge and elongate eye shape? It’s very important for me and I’ll encourage the one who gives me just useful information

  3. Such a great tip! I also tried Petunia Skincare’s Eye Serum and it does wonder with my dark circles and puffy eyes.
