How To Get Rid Of Your Forehead Wrinkles Naturally

Did Samantha on Bewitched Have Forehead Wrinkles?

When I was younger, I loved watching the American TV show, Bewitched. It was dubbed into Japanese.  I used to try to move my face like Samantha, a witch and the main character of the show. I was young, probably around 6 or 7 years old but I understood the differences in facial expressions between Japanese and Americans.

On Bewitched, Samantha’s eye and forehead movements along with her body language really caught my eye.  The movements were so dramatic and they were so foreign to my Japanese eye, it was a bit of a cultural shock.

The Cultural Factors That Could Lead To More Wrinkles On Forehead

The forehead is one of the areas that I see the biggest difference between Japanese and American clients. I have not had many Japanese clients who complained about or were concerned with their forehead wrinkles. After moving to the United States, I was shocked to find that many Americans, as young as 19 years old, are so concerned with forehead wrinkles and are trying different ways to get rid of them. When I started paying more attention to peoples’ faces in the US, I saw huge differences in facial movements.

Americans move their foreheads all the time; smiling, talking, thinking, driving, listening, and reading. They are also very expressive compared to the Japanese, who do not move the face muscles that much. Japanese people do not have that many facial expressions (good or bad).

Many foreigners who visited Japan have told me that Japanese people are so polite and nice but hard to read since they do not show their emotions on their faces. This is in our culture. Linguistically, when you speak Japanese, you do not need to use face muscles as English speakers do. So what is the Japanese people’s major complaint? In general, it is sagging, such as sagging eyelids and/or facial lines. Really big time!

How To Prevent The Lines on Your Forehead?

Some of the best ways to decrease and soften the forehead lines are stopping unconscious repetitive movements and training the forehead muscles not to move when you speak. It may not be easy at first, but you can definitely see the difference in a few weeks, especially if you are frowning or wrinkling your forehead when you speak. Just paying attention to your own face movement helps you to correct this habit.

Get Rid of Forehead Wrinkles Once and Forever With This Exercise

The “Binocular face” exercise helps you to eliminate deep forehead lines. This replaces possible injection treatments in the forehead. This pose helps you control your forehead muscles. Once you can control them, you can keep from wrinkling these muscles when you talk. This exercise will make you aware of the muscles so you can learn not to move them during daily life.

1) Curl your hands into “C” shapes
Place your index fingers above each eyebrow, along with the upper eye bones. Position each thumb on either side of your nose, just above the nostril. Press the fingers of each hand downward and then sideways. Open your chest. Pull down your shoulder blades.

2) Look forward
Open your eyes as widely as possible, for 5 seconds, 1,2,3,4,5, while pressing your index fingers into your eyebrows firmly making sure neither your eyebrows nor forehead move. Squint the eyes five times, 1,2,3,4,5. Close your eyes and relax.

3) Repeat 2 more sets

  1. Your article is no doubt quite informative but I have a question, I have coconut allergy can I still use Coconut oil for forehead wrinkles? I would love to hear your expert advice.

Hi! I would not recommend using coconut oil if you’re allergic to it. Please try an alternative oil or fat!

  2. Hi Michelle, thank you for your comment. Yes, dermaroller is a good tool.
In fact, I have a similar product (only sold in Japan). The Face Yoga Method does not
require any tools so if you combine the exercise and dermaroller, you can expect better results.  Here is a great one at Amazon.  http://amzn.to/MDG3al

    1. Which style derma roller are you recommending? The link doesn’t work. Jade rollers appear to be very popular right now. Thanks.

    Those facial exercises sound really
interesting, and it does make sense, as we do workout all other parts of
the body, why not the skin ?
But i’d like to add something to the mix, you also have other ways to
get rid of wrinkles, for instant you can use a dermaroller, that
basically promotes collagen growth on the skin, giving it’s elasticity
    back.
