Get Rid of Forehead Wrinkles And Droopy Eyelids With Face Yoga

In my early twenties, I had one deep forehead wrinkle above my right eyebrow. It was about 2 inches long and I did not understand why I got it. I was still young and the wrinkle was only on one side. One day at the dinner table, my mother pointed out that I was raising my right eyebrow very high. She told me that I was wrinkling the right side of my forehead.

To make a long story short, I discovered that my repetitive unconscious forehead movement was creating one deep forehead wrinkle! After that evening, I asked my mother to tell me to stop every time she noticed me raising the right eyebrow. To my great surprise, my 2-inch long forehead line was gone in a few weeks. Today, I can still see the very thin mark of it but unless I pay close attention, it is hard to notice. I owe my mother big time!

Are You Unintentionally Creating Forehead Wrinkles?

This experience made me aware of my facial movements, especially my forehead. I still catch myself raising only the right side of my eyebrow, especially when I am tired. But by doing one particular exercise, I can reset my forehead movements so that I do not create unnecessary and unwanted forehead wrinkles.

Now, it is your turn.

Let’s try something.

Look at yourself in the mirror. Open your eyes as wide as possible and take a look at your forehead area.

If you are wrinkling or frowning, you are probably not using the eyelids but rather the forehead muscles to open your eyes. If you keep doing this, your wrinkles and/or frowning will get deeper, longer and become permanent. Since you are not using your eye area muscles, the space between your eyes and eyebrows gets larger and that can create droopy eyelids too!

How To Stop Raising Eyebrows And Reduce Forehead Wrinkles

One of the best ways to decrease and soften the forehead lines is by learning how to stop raising eyebrows and training forehead muscles to remain still when you open your eyes or speak. It may not be easy at first, but you will definitely see the difference in a few weeks. Just paying attention to your own face movement helps you to correct this habit.

The “The Eye Opening Binocular Pose” exercise helps you to get rid of deep forehead wrinkles. This replaces possible injection treatments in the forehead. This pose helps you control your forehead muscles. This exercise will make you aware of the muscles so you can learn not to move them during daily life. Your eyelids will get more exercise and as a result, your eyes will become bigger!

The Eye Opening Binocular Pose – Exercise:

• Curl your hands into “C” shapes.
• Place your index fingers above each eyebrow, along the upper eye bones.
• Position each thumb on either side of your nose, just above the nostril.
• Press the fingers of each hand down and then sideways.
• Open your chest. Pull down your shoulder blades.
• Open your eyes as wide as possible, hold for 5 seconds, while pressing your index fingers firmly into your eyebrows making sure neither your eyebrows nor forehead move.
• Squint the eyes 5 times. Close your eyes and relax for a few seconds.
• Repeat 2 more sets.

Let me know how it worked for you!

  1. I have asymmetrical eyelids and I am doing the Creating Eye Symmetry pose. However, I have it is creating a lot of wrinkles above my eye. The ebook says this is OK as long as you do the tapping Cool Down. But mine are quite deep and I don’t know worried this will be making them worse. Is there anyway I can adapt it to reduce this please. Also, with the binocular pose should I be feeling a slight stretch when I squint my eyes. As my skin is quite loose I am not. Any suggestions if I should be. Thanks in advance. Amanda

Thanks! I always get a bit confused with this one and not sure if I’m doing it right ! When we open the eyes should we press hard with the finger against the eyebrow to stop it moving at all? Appreciate your advice on this part! thanks 🙂

    1. Hi AnneMarie! If you find it a challenge, you can also work on the areas separately. What you want to avoid is unwanted creases as you perform the exercises. 😉
