How To Treat And Prevent Eye Area Wrinkles

The eye area is one of the most common places people feel insecure or dissatisfied with. And while under eye wrinkles, eye bags, crow’s feet, and droopy eyelids are a common occurrence, there are things you can do to prevent and minimize their appearance, naturally, so you can regain your confidence and stop wasting money on expensive eye creams.

Woman's eyes before and after face yoga practice

Lifting the eyes is a great place to start taking years off your face and brightening your entire look. But desiring big bright eyes no longer means you need to go under the knife or get routine injections. For optimal and maintained results for your eye area, we always suggest doing Face Yoga exercises, which restores and tones the muscles beneath the skin’s surface meaning you’re reducing sagging skin, creases and  wrinkles both below and on the surface of your skin. Think of it as approaching your eye area from the root of the problem!

YOUR ROUTINE TO REDUCE UNDER EYE BAGS, DROOPY EYELIDS AND EYE WRINKLES:

Exercise 1 | Create Awareness

Before exercising the eye area, you must bring awareness to the forehead muscle, the largest muscle of the face. The forehead muscle extends from the forehead all the way to the back of your head, so it’s important when thinking about the eye area, to think about how you can use your forehead to support your eye exercises.

  • Place your hands on your forehead and push against the forehead while pulling it up slightly at the same time. This will instantly result in a dramatic change and opening of the eyes as our facial muscles are connected and work together.
  • Now, it is important to note and identify where the ring muscles around the eye area is. The ring muscles are found in the one inch circumference around the actual eye.
  • As you are simultaneously pushing and pulling on the forehead, imagine this ring around your eye area and consciously open your eyes.

Hold for 10 seconds. For optimal results we recommend three sets.

Exercise 2 | Brighten And Tone Your Eyes

  • Using the same forehead technique as in Exercise 1, this time imagine you are looking at something far away and very bright that it results in you squeezing the eye muscles. What you are doing here is intentionally training and strengthening the ring muscles with control.

Hold for 10 seconds. For optimal results we recommend three sets.

Exercise 3 | Vanish Crows Feet

  • Place your index finger by the outer edge of the eyebrow and middle finger on the cheekbone. Next, spread this area between the outer edge of the eyebrow and cheekbone slightly.
  • Make sure you are not forming wrinkles near the eyebrow as you are doing this exercise. This movement is very gentle and subtle.
  • Now do this movement on both sides, flare your elbows out, and squint your eyes.

Hold for 10 seconds. For optimal results we recommend three sets.

Exercise 4 | Create Symmetrical Eyes

  • Place your middle finger on the innermost corner of the eye and your  index finger on the outer part of your eye.
  • Relaxing the forehead is key and allows the mouth to slightly open.
  • This time, with your eyes only, look up at the ceiling.

Hold for 10 seconds. For optimal results we recommend 3 sets.

Exercise 5 | Eliminate Under Eye Bags

  • Place your thumbs close to your ears and your index fingers under your eyes.
  • Next, allow your mouth to drop and only moving your eyes, look up towards the ceiling.

Hold for 10 seconds. For optimal results we recommend 3 sets.

HOW TO CREATE A CONSISTENT EYE AREA ROUTINE

Face Yoga Method is a simple and all-natural technique you can do anywhere, no tools required. It’s so effective that even after just a few minutes of Face Yoga for the eye area exercises a day, you can start to notice a difference!

Once you master the technique and become confident in how each exercise should look and feel, you can practice them anywhere. This in turn will help you create a consistent routine, of at least a few poses a day, that you can do while cooking, while in the shower, in the grocery line, etc.

The eye area is often where we first start to notice fine lines and wrinkles appearing. While this can bring many people down and make them self conscious about their age, it is our mission to help men and women worldwide regain their confidence and embrace their age.

    Obrigada

    1. Hi Stefanie! The full length of the index fingers should be placed under the eyes, so that the tips of the fingers are touching the nose and the fingers are parallel to the forehead. In the video inside the blog Fumiko demonstrates this in the last exercise so you can see exact placement of the fingers! 🙂

    1. Hi Fatma! There is no age limit for Face Yoga and you can do facial exercises at any age! Face Yoga works by toning the muscles beneath the skin’s surface, which is the foundation of our face and skin! We look forward to supporting your Journey! 🙂
