As we age, our neck can sag due to weakened muscles, skin, and fat. This may cause a double chin appearance. Wondering how to lose neck fat? Here’s what you need to know.

WHAT CAUSES A FAT NECK?

Poor posture can weaken the muscles of the neck and cause the skin to lose its elasticity, which appears as neck fat. Besides poor posture, diet and age can also create added fat beneath the chin and around the neck. As we age we naturally lose muscle and this causes skin to sag as well. And of course, a poor diet can contribute to the excess fat around the neck area. In addition, our neck and shoulders are closely related to our emotions and suppressed emotions can accumulate in this area of the body. 

Many of us are bothered by the neck fat and want to get rid of it. But do you want to know what habit causes your double chin and neck fat, and act to prevent it? The “Swan Neck ™ ” is a great exercise to start with for losing double chin and obtaining a 100% natural neck lift. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Move your gaze to the upper right about 45 degrees, and then turn your head in the same direction. 
  2. Pucker your mouth and move it to the right, while feeling the stretch on the left front of your neck. 
  3. Hold for 5 seconds. 
  4. Come back to center
  5. Repeat on the opposite side. 
  6. Repeat two more sets on each side. 
  7. Come out of the pose and smile.
