In December 2016, I felt my phone buzz.

It was a message from my Face Yoga Method Team. “Congratulations, Fumiko, the Face Yoga Teacher Certification Course is online!”

My brand new Course for those wanting to start teaching Face Yoga was officially live on our site and to the world. Immediately, I got butterflies. What would people think of it? How would my Community respond? Would they like this newer, more intensive study?

That moment was the peak of a mountain I had been climbing for over three years — the Journey to create a Course that was truly one-of-a-kind. I had poured months of hard work, countless late nights of tweaks and improvements, and all of my most powerful Face Yoga Poses into this Course. It was the biggest project I had worked on yet, and held the biggest risk. 

And it took off in a way I had never imagined.

But to be totally honest with you, this moment almost didn’t happen. 

There were many days throughout the Journey of building this Course where I doubted myself and the work I was doing. I questioned whether I was a “real teacher”, and if I should’ve stuck to teaching university students back in Japan. 

I wondered if there was really anyone who was interested in teaching Face Yoga the way I did. Sure, I had proven that the Method worked and that there were people out there who wanted facial exercises. 

But would anyone follow in my footsteps to become the Face Yoga expert in their area?

Just before I could quit, I was reminded of my purpose — of my why. I remembered the mission that had stuck with me for my entire life: My dream of changing the lives of others, and creating an impact that would cause a positive ripple effect that would go on and on. 

“Change Your Face, Change Your Life”

Although they had no idea at the time, the students who were sending me their transformations and explaining the life-changing effects of Face Yoga were changing my world. They said that I had changed their lives — but they were the ones who had changed mine.

My students were the reason I found the courage and inspiration to launch the Face Yoga Teacher Certification Course for the first time. My students were the reason I believed in the power of the Face Yoga Method.

Year after year, incredible students have poured their time and energy into completing this 6-Month Face Yoga Teacher Certification Course. The Face Yoga Teachers that graduate go on to change lives around the world, and in their own communities.
