Beautiful THEN & NOW

“For a long time I didn’t appreciate the magical things I have to offer to myself. Now I understand that love is the strongest feeling in the entire universe, for you to give love, you have to start by loving yourself.” ~ Andrea B.

Recently in our Private Facebook Community we shared photos of our beauty “then” and our beauty “now”.  This exercise in confidence turned out to be a lesson for all of us. Because the truth is, if you saw your beauty then, you can still see it today.

In this blog we spill the simple, yet often not told, real secrets of how to feel beautiful and what it means to celebrate age. The quotes you see throughout are the words of encouragement women in our Community wish to share with you and the world.

As you read on, we encourage you to reflect on the moments in your life that have contributed to all the beauty you have NOW.

HOW TO FEEL BEAUTIFUL

Feeling beautiful starts with you. How you see yourself, is how the world will start to see you.

Our age is a representation of the milestones lived, and wisdom gathered through the seasons of womanhood. These seasons and the stories within them, deserve the worthy title of BEAUTIFUL.

When we celebrate age, we are celebrating years of memories and experiences.

And while we gracefully age, life unfolds. We laugh, we cry, we connect, we share. We go through new experiences, some extraordinary, some painful, yet our age serves to remind us of how far we’ve come and all that we’ve done.

Begin feeling beautiful by appreciating all that you are on the inside and allowing that to freely radiate on the outside.

So, what if you allowed your age to empower you, rather than permitting ageist stereotypes to tear you down?

“And here’s the thing, when you love yourself better, your ability to give love to others grows tremendously. And doesn’t this world just need a whole lot more love right now ”~ Robyn V.

HOW TO FEEL CONFIDENT

Despite your age, how you feel on the inside, reflects on the outside. How you choose to honor these parts of you not only speaks to others, but it inspires them to see true beauty within themselves also.

Beauty is not about the length of your hair or the size of jeans you fit into. True beauty is the value you place on yourself, how you hold your head high – knowing that self-love is your best color.

What if you allowed your age to amplify the beauty within yourself?

If each year served as a reminder of all that you are:

  • A Woman
  • A Mother
  • A Sister
  • A Daughter
  • A Grandmother
  • A Granddaughter
  • A Wife
  • A Partner
  • A Story teller
  • A Teacher

And so much more…

What if you saw each year as a milestone that added immense beauty and an opportunity to radiate it from the inside-out?

We like the sound of that, and that is why we started the Pro-Age Revolution! For, and because of, women like YOU.

“…stop talking yourself down and start embracing the “flawsome” woman that you already are—fabulous and fallible, brilliant and blundering, innately lovable and wholly imperfect—all at the same time.”
~ Emma H.

PRO-AGE REVOLUTION

“The greatest gift you can give yourself is a little bit of your own attention.” ~ Lilibet L.

The stereotypes of aging are designed to make women feel insecure and invest money to “stop aging.”

Those that do not know the power of true self-love dismiss the fact that internal beauty and confidence shines brighter than any aging serum on the market.

And we are not going to let them have it, for we can’t stress enough that age is meant to be embraced.

The Pro-Age Revolution is about exactly that, regaining confidence and embracing age! It is designed to build you up, not bring you down.

The Pro-Age Revolution encourages you to carry your age as your most precious accessory, reminding you that it is your stories and your life’s experiences that make you most beautiful.

You were BEAUTIFUL THEN & you are BEAUTIFUL NOW.

“I used to avoid mirrors, now I cannot wait to look at them.” ~ Sui T.

Many women have come to us reminiscing of their younger days. They hold onto the beauty of “then” but disregard their beauty in the now.

For too long, they have been told that beauty and age don’t go hand in hand.

For too long, they have been told that instead of embracing their beauty NOW, they should be striving to regain the beauty of THEN.

However, the truth is that the beauty you had then isn’t gone, it has just SHIFTED. It’s matured into a version of you that can now speak of the seasons of womanhood through experience – a power and a wealth of wisdom that only you hold.

That is beautiful and that is worth celebrating!

Your beauty of now has molded to represent all that you are, all that you have become and all that you are still becoming.

So, we remind you to honor the years you have as a prized possession.

We remind you to look in the mirror and see your age as your story, your character, your poise, your authenticity, your life’s path.

And we invite you to come tell us your story as we unapologetically celebrate our age together.

  2. Hi Fumiko,

Very good article! It is very uplifting to see women embracing their age – all of them look more beautiful in their maturity than they did in their young selves.

    Great work Fumiko and Team!

  3. It is exiting to share with women who find birthdays uplifting and rewarding experiences. I believe in them like accomplishments and powerful moments of gratitude. They are eminent reminders of the beauty within me, which is only the love and nurture I practice on myself.

  4. Getting older was harder for me. I look back now, I’m 65 now, and realize just how truly beautiful I was at n 40, 50 and 60. Nowadays when I look in a mirror I look at the true me. The one full of life experiences. And I finally see the beauty that shows thru as I’ve realized that I AM NOT JUST A NUMBER. I am a truly beautiful woman inside and out. I’m no longer ashamed of my age. I’m just sorry I didn’t realize this years ago.

These words touch the heartstrings and resound so truthfully. We are, as women brainwashed to believe that we slowly disappear as we age. I’m guilty of allowing myself to be influenced and often devastated by this treatment. Often shopping for clothes or make up with my daughter the shop assistant addresses her, even when I’m the person speaking! I’m invisible!
I’m going to love myself more. Often you forget how much of life you have tasted! I’m proud to be the woman I am now, faults and all, they add up to me!

    1. Thank you for sharing a part of your story Christine! We’re happy to hear that these lessons resonated and even happier to hear about your determination to love and show up for yourself! We are celebrating you!

  6. This is really awesome, I hope we all learn to embrace our age and see that for each line on our faces, there is a beautiful memory, victory, lesson, grace and story. Thanks

  7. I’d love to see the pictures better but the arrows are right on top of the pictures. That said, I know this works, it makes makes perfect sense.
