Kintsugi: Why You Should Embrace Imperfection

I’ve always been in awe of the Japanese artform, Kintsugi. In Japan, vessels that have cracked or broken are repaired with gold. This name for this ancient art form is called Kintsugi, which literally translates to English as Tsugi “join” Kin “in gold”.

This practice has always captured my heart because what it evokes is incredibly beautiful. Rather than disposing of a piece, or joining it with a camouflaged glue or resin, Kintsugi carefully mends the cracks with not only care and attention but with gold, making the finished piece even more valuable and stunning than it was originally.

The underlying truth here is that in order to become more precious every kintsugi artwork must start with the same phase: Breakage.

What is decided to be done with the pieces, and the final piece comes from following the next steps:

  • Vision
  • Preparation
  • Repair
  • Patience
  • Reveal

This sacred artform can be applied to our everyday life and yes, even our self-care practices, and particularly for women over 30 who are starting to see lines on their face and body.

We are a work of art.

Even with our cracks, lines, and imperfections, these features don’t define our worth or our beauty.

Even if we’ve been broken, we can embrace our flaws and repair ourselves into something even more beautiful than before.

The Face Yoga Method has never been about eliminating your wrinkles or putting any less value on a face with sagging skin and signs of aging – rather, this Method is about devoting time and attention to the parts of you that need it and working on yourself through love and dedication. This practice will transform you inside and out.

We can practice our own form of Kintsugi through mindful self-care!

I invite you to incorporate this beautiful practice into your daily life!  Together I want to show you how to not only embrace your flaws but to see them as something beautiful. We can fill in your cracks and lines and imperfections with not just products, but with love.

Your face can be a #flawsome masterpiece!

A perfect place to begin is during your daily skin care ritual. Through action, proper skin care, breath, and even mantra, we can rejoin our cracks and become even more beautiful and bring our inner radiance out.

  1. I’m enroll in a program BootCamp since Sep 1st 2021and it is amazing. Since I desided to practice my Yoga with Fumiko. I notice that my skin glows even more in the morning. The pores around my cheeks are gone, the oriental lines on my fronhead are almost gone. The color of my lips are healthyer.. I feel my face and neck muscles tighten, this is somthing I never feeled before…
I’ll keep My Yoga routine is the best Method I ever experience.
