The Minimalist’s Guide to A Younger Looking Face – Nasolabial Fold Treatment

THE SHOCKING TRUTH ABOUT “LAUGH LINES”

The nasolabial area is the first area I noticed before I started practicing Face Yoga. I still remember that evening very clearly when I saw my profile in the mirror at the hallway in my apartment in Tokyo. The evening sunlight was coming through the small window and I saw the deep line on the side of my mouth. I was terrified. I looked so old all of sudden. I felt like my youth was gone forever. That was definitely the moment I decided to do something to stop the aging process if I could.

HOW TO END THE NEVER ENDING CYCLE

I rushed to the spa to get a facial treatment. I started doing extensive online research and purchased many different types of “anti-aging creams.” I started investing a lot of money to keep my face young. Did they work? Maybe they did in some way but psychologically I was threatened by the fact that I had to keep doing all the facial treatments and keep buying expensive anti-aging products for the rest of my life! I was still in my thirties. When I thought about all the money I had to spend for the rest of my life just to keep my face look young, it almost depressed me. I felt like there was no going back. I am so thankful for facial exercises. Face Yoga has really helped me, not only psychologically but also financially!

GETTING THE BEST RESULTS

You do not need to spend so much money on your special “anti-aging” products any more. Just try the Face Yoga Method poses for the area that you are concerned about. If you do not use your face, you loose it. Think about dieting and buying healthy food but not really doing an kind of exercise. Here is one pose for you!

Benefit: This simple and easy pose softens and even eliminates lines around your mouth, especially nasolabial fold lines.

  1. Breathe through your nose while keeping your mouth closed.
  2. Move your tongue to the side of your mouth and push against the inside of your cheek with your tongue. Hold it 10 seconds.
  3. Slowly move your tongue across to the center and then to the left and push against the inside of your cheek with your tongue. Hold it 10 seconds.
  4. Repeat one more time.
  5. Come out from the pose and then relax.

You can do it any time and anywhere. Most likely nobody would notice what you are doing.  Don’t you love it?

  1. I had fillers, Juviderm 2 yes ago. Most have wort but some refused to wear out.
    It made it even look worse.

    What can I do to my face?
    Will these exercises reduce my folds around my mouth?

  2. hi Fumiko, I hope you are well!
    so I would just like to check, we just push our tongue against the desired area where we want to lose the little bit of extra weight which is creating these”lines”. What is the recommended amount of times we do this exercise and how often? When will we start seeing results?

    1. Hi Jade! 🙂 Thanks for reaching out. Results will vary from person to person and can depend on age, skin condition and consistency of practice. However, most people see results in as little as two weeks! For optimal results, we recommend 3 sets, 3-5 times per day. Make sure to mirror the exercises in the beginning and follow step by step instruction!

  3. Im scared that smile lines will be worsened with this because under my lower lip i already have wrinkles. What should i do ?

    1. Hi Bojan,

      I understand your concern, but so far, I didn’t have people who practiced the exercise regularly and complained about their situation worsening. My advice is to do the exercise on a regular basis, since the lines indeed can get deeper if you stop exercising.

    1. Hi Wene,
      Some people see results right away, even after one practice! But most people see results after 2 weeks (you can see the Before/After photos on our website). Please note that measuring facial changes is very different from measuring body changes which are easy to track with scales and other measuring devices. The results on the face are much more subtle and appear slowly over time. For this reason, I highly recommend taking Before/After photos to keep yourself motivated. One of my students, Heather, practiced some of the Face Yoga Method poses while she commuted by car. After 6 weeks, she saw a friend of hers whom she had not seen for almost 2 years. Her friend told Heather that Heather looked younger than 2 years ago and wanted to know what Heather did! The secret is the Face Yoga Method!

    in your E-book, method 4, after pushing tunge, you say “move the tongue clock wise around the mouth”

    do you mean left side to right side or reverse

    1. Yes it should! Just spend more time on the area you want to see the results. So your case is around the lower lip to the jaw line. It may feel strange at first since you are not used to use that area. Let me know how it does 🙂

  6. is this stretching the cheek tissue? or it it strengthening. if it is strengthening, what muscle groups are being strengthened? I don’t want to stretch my cheeks. just want them to get stronger.

    1. You are giving some stimulation to many muscles in your face. Zygomaticus Minor/Major muscles (cheek muscles), Lavator Labii Superior Muscle ( muscle to lifet the corners of your mouth), Masseter and Temporalis (work to open the mouth). Since it does not take long to do this exercise, I do not think it does not stretch the muscles. You face naturally resist the movement and I think this helps to strength the muscles.

    do you have a natural way to remove pigmantation on my cheek caused by sun and contraseptivetablet? I used some cream but still it is.

    1. Practicing the face yoga poses have really helped me over the years. I have exposed myself to the sun too much when i was in 20th and 30th. Face exercise helps to speed up skin’s turn over.   12. Do you mean you do it on one side and then take your tongue across to below your nose and then to the other side and push out against the cheek?

  13. You have mentioned that we should breath from our nose first.So are we supposed to hold the breath while we do this pose?
