Do Facial Exercises Cause Wrinkles?

This blog post is little bit different from other blog posts I usually write.  I want to address a myth I often hear in regards to face yoga and give you the answer to the burning question: Do facial exercises cause wrinkles?

Some people say that moving the facial muscles and doing facial exercises cause unwanted wrinkles and create expression lines. That can be true if you are not paying attention to your facial movements and you hold your breath and create tension while doing facial exercises.

In this blog post, I will talk about how and why the Face Yoga Method works without causing unwanted wrinkles.

As you probably know, skin is the largest organ of our body and it is connected from head to toe!

As we age, many people think that it is gravity that causes your skin to sag, but that isn’t true.

Why? Because your skin is attached to your facial muscles, so as your muscles start to sag, they bring your skin down with them.

We need to lift up the facial muscles if we want to lift up the skin.

As wonderful as anti-aging creams are, they can’t lift the muscle.

Maybe you’re wondering what it is that separates women like yourself from actresses that look as if they don’t age?

Is it that the rules of gravity don’t apply to them?

Is it the facials, the procedures, the creams?

No.

They are aware of something many of us do not pay attention to.  They have to express subtle emotions using their facial muscles.  It is not the words they say in the movies but their facial expressions that move us with joy or sadness.

They use their facial muscles and they know the power of facial expressions.

Let’s talk about the history of facial exercises. Face yoga dates as far back as 2000 years ago.

Who do you think started paying attention to the facial muscles and the benefits of facial exercises?

Cleopatra and the Empress of the Imperial Court in China were known to use facial exercises to maintain a youthful look.

Jack LaLanne, known as “the godfather of fitness” advertised face toning exercises throughout his career, he was still doing face exercises at 94.

Madonna, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston are all known to use face exercises. It’s a hidden secret of the stars.

Facials, creams and having a well-rounded skin care routine WILL help, but like I said before, they only treat the surface effects of aging and not the causes.

There are no amount of creams that can “magically” improve blood flow and increase collagen biosynthesis in the skin.

Just look at the thermographic image of an actual face yoga practitioner after only 30 seconds of practicing “The Big O.”

Two thermographic images featuring comparison of close-up faces before and after face yoga
Facial exercises increase blood circulation, no doubt!
Left: Before performing Face Yoga exercises.
Right: After performing the “Big O,” a signature Face Yoga Method exercise, for 30 seconds.

There is increased blood circulation which increases skin elasticity and collagen production.

That’s the beauty of this approach.

There IS NOT an infinite number of possible face exercises out there.

I have carefully created and divided them according to your problem area because everybody is different and every face is different!

So come and join me and try the magic of facial exercises today and see and feel the difference that thousands have experienced. And believe me, if you do them the right way, facial exercises won’t cause wrinkles!

P.S. The cons of facial exercises? The exercises can become second nature to you and you might start moving your face in public without realizing it!

  1. Thank you, Ma’am! I find your posts very scientific. I shall try the facial exercises (I have been looking for the right ones for quite some time ). I shall get back to you once I start noticing results.

  2. I am a 63 y.o. formerly street homeless, single female. Obese, and although being homeless ages you 20 years, I surprisingly still get approached by men, even young men. I lack confidence and need support in my process of restoration. I want and believe I can have an abundant life still.
I have started facial Lymph Massage drainage and am working on my forehead, eyes, cheeks and neck.
Having roof over my head again has been the start of restoration. I am told I look so different and even get wows.
I need accountability. I am on shoestring budget.

  3. I want to convey my love for your kindness
giving support to people that must have help with your field.
Your very own commitment to getting the message all over
came to be surprisingly advantageous and have made guys and
women just like me to attain their pursuits. Your warm and friendly
guidelines can mean a great deal to me and somewhat more to my peers.
Thanks a ton; from everyone of us.
