Lymphatic Massage To Flush Out Wrinkles

Swelling, dull skin, and uneven complexion are all symptoms of poor lymphatic drainage.

Now, before you get too concerned, the great news is that it’s pretty simple to flush your system thanks to our body’s natural lymphatics, and this applies to our face too!

Our Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is the system that drains extra fluid and waste from your body. Lymphatic massage is therefore a gentle massage that encourages movement of the lymph fluids in the body. It consists of very gentle strokes on the surface of the skin, without any pressure, to help activate the lymphatic system. Because some health conditions can cause the lymph fluid to build up, this type of massage is really beneficial for restoring and keeping vitality in the organs and in the body, as well as improving circulation.

What Is Lymphatic Drainage Massage Good For?

Lymphatic massage can also help reduce swelling that is oftentimes caused by blocked lymph fluids. Even if you have no preexisting conditions that block these fluids, this treatment can also help with fatigue, stress, migraines, skin conditions and much more, making it a great self care practice you can even do on your own.

Tips For Lymphatic Health At Home

If you’re unsure about whether you should do it on your own, we always recommend that you consult your doctor first. Upon approval from your doctor, you can use these tips to get you started and give yourself a lymphatic massage:

  • Lymphatic massage should not be pressed into the muscle, but just a gentle glide along the skin
  • Use the flat part of your palms, not fingertips
  • Make yourself comfortable, whether that means sitting, standing or laying down
  • Relax your body and your hands
  • Do the massage on warmed up muscles
  • Drink plenty of fluids before and after the treatment
  • Don’t massage any affected or swollen areas
  • Incorporate deep breathing techniques along with lymphatic massage
  • You can do lymphatic self massage daily as long as you are not experiencing any strain or pain

We recommend doing it by the end of the day to flush everything out, but you can squeeze in any free time you have! 🙂
