Energize Your Skin With This Face Yoga Method Favorite Technique

We love to wake up feeling refreshed, recharged, energized, and ready for the day! But we don’t always get the luxury of waking up in this way.

While we’re all about encouraging healthy lifestyle habits that’ll also contribute to the health of your skin, we have a little something to help energize you, and your skin, as you get into the habit of creating new habits — This stimulating morning facial massage!

Pairing facial massage alongside your Face Yoga Practice can yield extraordinary results for your skin and even your mood!  The morning massage below can be done daily and can show instant benefits regardless of your age and skin condition.

Morning Massage Benefits

Doing a facial massage in the morning wakes you up, provides your skin with fresh oxygenated blood and nutrients your skin needs to stay healthy and glowing. It also reduces stiffness and muscle tension that’ll leave you feeling fantastic. Releasing this tension impacts your overall mood and stress levels as your face and body communicate to your brain.

Morning massage helps keep your skin firm and healthy by increasing blood circulation, stimulating the lymphatic system, and activating energy points in the face and head.

As a result:

  • Your face will look less puffy
  • Eyebags and dark circles will diminish
  • Weak and sleepy muscles will wake up and energize

Morning Facial Massage: How To

  • To start, ensure you’re feeling comfortable.
  • You can turn on music, diffuse oils, or open a window for fresh air.
  • Have your hot water and take a few deep breaths before starting the facial massage.
  • Start by tapping on your skull — this activates the blood flow and brain cell activity.
  • Tap all over your head, to the sides, and back of the head.
  • You can tap very gently or slightly more intensely, depending on your needs and how you’re feeling.
  • Swipe your hands over your forehead, from side to side, but don’t apply too much pressure.
  • Move into acupressure pumps along the eye sockets.
  • Use your index finger and very gently press and pump along the eye sockets.
  • Start right above the eyebrows, on the bone, to the crow’s feet area, and underneath the eyes.
  • Move to the inner corner of the eyes.
  • You can close your eyes for this one and use as much pressure as it feels good for you.
  • Take a deep breath in and out.
  • Open your eyes and place your fingertips next to your nostrils; gently press in and do small circles — this opens your sinuses and is excellent for allergies.
  • Now separate your fingers and do a couple of strokes up and down.
  • You can pair this with The Big O to gently stretch the cheek muscles.
  • Pinch the ears until they are slightly red and start to tingle.
  • Do The Big O one more time.
  • Finish by applying gentle strokes on the cheeks and down the neck

Pairing facial massage with your Face Yoga Practice goes together like peanut butter and jelly!

They’re both great on their own, but together they make an irresistible pair. The Big O Pose, for example, is a Face Yogi favorite for its versatility and stimulating effects. Check out further reading for tips on The Big O and other Face Yoga lifestyle hacks.

  1. Dear Tina,

Besides my face yoga which I try to do every day I already started doing the face massages.
I did see the result immediately afterwards. I could see and feel the energy in my face and head.

I like the movements you show in your film. Thanks.

  2. Love the ideal of facial massage. I did a 10 minute massage using a grainy product once or twice a week for years. I attribute this to my (some people say) youthful appearance. Need to pick up the habit again. I will soon be 86.
